Harry Garmon
In 1976, following corporate jobs with Reynolds Metals and Baker Engineering in the data processing field, Harry started his first business. The company was a software development firm growing to $3 million in revenues. That company was sold in 1991 and, following the transition of the firm to the new owners, Harry started PayTime in 1993. PayTime, a payroll service company serving small sized businesses, grew to become Richmond’s largest, locally owned payroll service company. This company was sold to a local entrepreneur in late 2005.
As an experienced, successful entrepreneur who started and grew several service companies, Harry is very familiar with what makes a small business prosper. This business venture recognizes the value to this market of outsourcing bookkeeping services. It is entirely appropriate, therefore, that he is now devoting his efforts to sales and marketing for The Bookkeeping Department, extolling to other small business owners the benefits to be derived from adopting such a proven solution for their own enterprises.

Scott Vaden
Scott launched his accounting career some 17 years ago, with a well-regarded regional accounting firm, serving both business and individual clients. He then branched out into the corporate sector, advancing within several industrial firms to Controller and CFO positions. In these roles, he was able to deliver exceptional business value by conceiving and implementing control policies and systems that minimized costs, while concurrently maximizing profitability and managerial insight. He planned and implemented capital projects that exceeded their forecasted ROIs, developed automated quote-generating systems for sales departments, and enhanced manufacturing managerial effectiveness through the adoption of new standard cost models.
For the past seven years, Scott devoted his energies to serving small businesses through outsourced bookkeeping.
Clients can use his resources, their own, or a mix, to efficiently and painlessly perform their bookkeeping functions. Since virtually all of Scott’s experience is with small businesses, he is well attuned to their issues and needs. Scott is no theorist; his work is clearly “real world” and predicated on delivering cost-effective results allowing clients to focus on the more important aspects of their businesses. His vision for The Bookkeeping Department—to provide high-quality, easy-to-use bookkeeping services through the ASP model.
